Who Sets The Standard

I'm Paul Poppell — a Louisiana outdoorsman who's spent a lifetime working and living outside: farming, construction, law enforcement — serving as a deputy sheriff and patrol supervisor — and more than 25 years in the energy and pipeline industry. That work, and a lifelong love of the outdoors, have taken me across the country and around the world — and I've hunted and fished wherever I've gone.

WildMark started from a simple belief: most people don't need more choices. They need better ones.

So everything here has to earn its place against The Standard — quality, performance, reputation, service, value, trust, and stewardship. No committee. No paid placements dressed up as picks. If I wouldn't stake my own hunt on it, it doesn't make the shortlist. The same goes for the places — I don't send you somewhere I wouldn't go myself.

It's gear and destinations I'd put my own name behind. Which is exactly what I've done.
